Carole Gardens believes that every client’s garden is unique and deserves the individualized attention not commonly given by a larger landscaping company. Whether you need maintenance on an existing garden, or a full redesign and installation project, we tailor our process to your individual needs.
Generally, our process can be broken down into four steps: beginning with a free initial consultation and ending with a beautiful, regularly maintained garden.
In the initial consultation we listen to your hopes for the garden, gather information, establish goals for the project, take measurements, observe growing conditions, and discuss a plan for the project and growing season. If you have a specific idea of plants you would like to include in your garden (natives, herb garden, veggie garden, etc.) this is the perfect time to talk about it so we can include this in your design. We will discuss the design fee and give you an estimate for the project.
After the initial consultation, we set to work designing a garden for you. Based on your goals, as well as the measurements and observations we made, we draw up a custom plan for you, selecting plants and their placement based on you and your garden’s individual needs.
This is where the magic happens! Watch your garden come to life through the installation process. Whether building out a custom design or replanting an existing garden, we plant your garden with the knowledge and care it takes to ensure happy plants for seasons to come.
We offer maintenance schedules ranging from once a week to Spring and Fall cleanups. Most gardens require some love once or twice a month, but like every part of the process this schedule is based on your needs and that of the garden. Maintenance can range from cleanup and debris removal, to weeding, mulching, replanting, and expert pruning. It all depends on what you want and need.
While this is part of a maintenance schedule at the beginning and end of the growing season, we offer stand-alone cleanups at any time. Whether your garden just needs a little refresh, or you would rather take care of maintenance throughout the year and have some professional help at the beginning or end of the growing season, we are here for your garden’s needs.
Carole Gardens is the brainchild and labor of love of Meg McCollister. Established in 2013, Meg has worked tirelessly to bring her knowledge and love of plants to the community of greater northwest Philadelphia.
After working in the gardening community for years, Meg enrolled in the Barnes Foundation Horticultural program to solidify her knowledge and broaden her range. Upon completion she founded Carole Gardens. Named for her mother, who owned her own small gardening business, Carole Gardens strives to bring an individualized approach and deep wealth of knowledge to gardening projects large and small.
As owner and operator of Carole Gardens, Meg is deeply involved in every aspect of business, from drawing each design by hand to hauling nearly every yard of mulch to your garden. She is assisted by her two very dedicated and capable employees Josh and Kevin. Together they work to ensure that client’s needs are front and center in every decision made, and that the happiness of the garden remains their unwavering goal.
